GET TO KNOW ME Hi! I’m Elaine.

In 2006 I was searching for miniature accessories to complete my collection of Mattel Liddle Kiddle dolls from the 1960's. Liddle Kiddles were vinyl dolls with bendable arms and legs. Each doll came with accessories complimentary to the doll's persona.
During my search I discovered miniatures for dollhouses made by artisans. I was amazed at the detail of these items. Before long, I was researching the individual artists and their work. I soon discovered that the price for tiny items was NOT tiny. It seemed like the smaller the item the bigger the price tag! Being creative, loving a challenge, and having experience with a variety of craft skills (Sewing, Crochet, Embroidery, Drafting, Woodworking, etc.), I decided to try my hand at creating miniatures. This website showcases all of the room boxes and miniature items I've made. There are also tutorials, tips and links to my items for sale. I hope you enjoy your visit! |
My first miniature room box was completed in 2007. I had read magazines, watched videos, visited websites and emailed several miniature artisans to learn as much as I could about the different scales of miniatures, and how to develop my techniques in creating miniatures.

I started making 1/12th scale miniatures. This was the most popular scale at the time, and easy for me to calculate conversions from life size to mini. 1/12th scale means that an item that is 12" in real life would be 1" in miniature. Eventually I hope to work at making smaller scale minis, as well.
