Miniature Business Card Holder
Completed on August 6, 2013
At one time I had wanted to sell my items at craft shows, so I designed this business card holder to put my cards in. I wanted an unusual card holder to showcase my love of making miniatures. This was so much fun to make!
The base was made from 1/2" foam core covered with suede paper on the top tp look like carpet. The edges were wrapped with fabric.
I designed and made this card holder using matboard. The bookshelf is made from illustration board. The book covers are printies wrapped around fun foam, scratch paper, and dollar store erasers trimmed to fit.
The plant was made with painted masking tape and wire. The soil is tea grounds. The pliers are printies. The tote was a dipping sauce container painted blue.
The paint bottles are painted dowels with fun foam as bottle tops. The framed photo is of my late father. The craft punches are made from fun foam.
I added printie decorations and pieces of colored cardstock and scrapbook paper to add visual interest. The fishbowl was a gift from a friend.
The lampshade was made from velum. I finished the scene with multiple printies, bits of thread and yarn, as well as mini pieces of ribbon on spools made from cardstock.
I made the chair from balsa and toothpicks. The same fabric that I edged the base with was used to make the chair's seat cushion.
